Frank R. Paul's Eyeball Creatures Attack – Amazing Stories June 1927

A newsstand browser in 1927 would have recoiled and leaned in simultaneously — this lurid purple-and-green fever vision of floating eyeball-organisms attacking a group of desperate humans was unlike anything in respectable print. Frank R. Paul delivers a chaotic tableau: a white-robed figure fires a pistol at a green alien creature while swirling, multi-colored ocular entities spiral forward from a dark pool, a bare-chested warrior looms above, and a terrified woman in diaphanous robes watches from a platform surrounded by goggle-eyed creatures.

This is peak Golden Age pulp delirium — floating multi-colored eyeball monsters, green aliens, a gun-toting robed figure, and a damsel in diaphanous fabric, all crammed into one glorious purple hellscape. It belongs on a dorm room wall AND in a museum of American pop culture history.
