Terms of Use

Last updated: September 2026

1. Who You Are Agreeing With

oona13.com (“the Site”) is operated by Stephen Taylor, in Minnesota. “We,” “us” and “our” mean Stephen Taylor. OONA 13 is the title of a novel and Brighterside Press is the imprint it is published under; neither is a separate company. You can reach us through the on the Site.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the Site, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

3. What Is on the Site

The Site hosts the novel OONA 13 and its reading pages, the Sci-Fi & Fantasy Image Archive, the Free Library, and a set of free science experiments: Shortwave, How radio works, Math art, Sine wave and the Infinity Clock.

Cover Maker and Book Maker are separate services with accounts and paid credits. They are governed by their own Terms of Use & Privacy, not by this document.

4. The Image Archive

The images displayed in the Sci-Fi & Fantasy Image Archive are vintage illustrations believed to be in the public domain (published before 1929, or between 1929–1963 with unrenewed copyright). They are provided for personal, educational, and archival purposes. While we make every effort to ensure accuracy, we make no warranties regarding the copyright status of individual images.

5. The Experiments

The experiments are free, and are published for curiosity and learning. They are not navigational, safety, engineering or financial instruments, and nothing in them should be relied on for a decision that matters. In particular:

  • Shortwave plays live audio from public KiwiSDR receivers operated by volunteers around the world. Those receivers are not ours, and they can be busy, offline or withdrawn at any time. Schedule data comes from the EiBi database and space-weather figures from NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center.
  • The signal strengths, paths and propagation predictions the set displays are the output of a model, not a measurement. Treat them as a forecast.
  • The receiver relay is shared and deliberately limited — a small number of sessions at a time, each capped in length. It is not a general-purpose proxy and must not be used as one.
  • The Infinity Clock is a demonstration of how large a number can be. It performs no mining, moves no funds, and holds no assets. Nothing about it is a promise of any outcome to anyone.

6. Copyright Claims

If you believe any content on this Site infringes upon your copyright, please with details of the alleged infringement. We will promptly review and remove any content that is found to infringe valid copyrights.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and its content are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Stephen Taylor be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Site.

9. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law
