1. Who Is Responsible

oona13.com (“the Site”) is operated by Stephen Taylor, in Minnesota, who is responsible for the information described here. You can reach us through the on the Site.

2. Information We Collect

We collect limited, non-personal information automatically when you visit the Site, including your IP address, browser type, referring page, and pages visited. This is used for analytics and for keeping the Site working. There are no accounts on oona13.com, and nothing on it is for sale.

3. Cookies

The Site may use cookies for essential functionality (such as admin authentication) and third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics). You may disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not function properly.

4. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the Site. It reports trends without identifying individual visitors. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Analytics runs on the archive and book pages, and on How radio works, Math art, Sine wave and the Infinity Clock. It does not run on the Shortwave receiver.

5. The Experiments

  • Math art, Sine wave and the demonstrations inside How radio works run entirely in your browser. Nothing you draw, drag or type in them is sent anywhere. Some remember a small preference — a panel position, a chosen setting — in your browser’s local storage, which stays on your device and is never sent to us.
  • Shortwave. When you start live audio, our server opens a connection to a public KiwiSDR receiver on your behalf. Your IP address is held in our server’s memory only, so that sessions can be limited fairly — a couple at a time per visitor, a small number overall, each capped in length. It is not written to disk, and it is not passed on to the receiver: the receiver’s operator sees our server, not you. Audio is relayed as you listen and is not recorded.
  • Infinity Clock. The server keeps a running count of attempts and any winning result. Nothing is stored about individual visitors.

6. Third-Party Services

The Site uses Cloudflare for content delivery and security, and Google Analytics as described above. The Shortwave experiment additionally connects to public KiwiSDR receivers operated by volunteers, and uses schedule data from the EiBi database and space-weather data from NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center. Each of these parties handles data under its own policies.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties. We may share anonymized, aggregate data for analytical purposes.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect against unauthorized access. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

9. Cover Maker and Book Maker

Cover Maker and Book Maker have accounts, paid credits and uploaded files, and are covered by their own Terms of Use & Privacy. This policy does not apply to them.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
