Space Marines at Combat Screen, Amazing Stories December 1936
Remote battlefield surveillance technology takes center stage as uniformed space military officers monitor a live combat feed on a large viewscreen — an early pulp-era vision of drone warfare and real-time tactical displays. Three officers in military dress whites and peaked caps crowd around a futuristic control console bristling with dials, switches, and joysticks while a soldier on the screen fires a weapon amid swirling orange dust, suggesting an alien planetary surface engagement.
Those officers watching a guy get shot at through a fancy TV screen is pretty swell, but I wish they showed more of the alien planet and less of the guys in uniforms. Still, Bob Olsen and Edmond Hamilton in the same issue? Worth every one of my 25 cents!
